Buddha Eden Garden
A wonderful garden in Bombarral filled with sculptures. When the Taliban blown up huge Buddha statues in Afghanistan in 2001, a wealthy Portuguese businessman, José Bernardo, decided he would give the world back a place of peace. He shipped various Buddha statues from this affected area to Portugal. On a huge estate “Quinta dos Loridos” (more than 45 hectares), the giant Buddha statues dominates in an environment of olive and vineyards. The garden is now also expanding with (modern) art, ponds and lawns. The African part is definitely worth a visit. Here are many images of bulls, buffalo, lions, giraffes, elephants and many more other animals. You can walk here or relax on the various lawns or benches.
The children can also enjoy themselves here. At the (small) entrance you can also choose to use the train. This train runs around the park and stops at 4 places.
An unexpected experience at a unique location.
